WeChat Q&A bot
The 马莫百科 WeChat official account has a question-answering bot. Follow the account, send a question in Chinese, and it replies with an answer and the official link so you can check the English original. It is written for students at the Malaysia campus.
How to use it
Section titled “How to use it”- In WeChat, search for the official account 马莫百科 and follow it.
- Send your question as a normal message, for example “FIT2004 的先修课是什么” or “怎么申请 special consideration”.
- Read the answer and open the link it gives to confirm.
Where answers come from
Section titled “Where answers come from”In this order:
- Answers the account owner has written for common questions.
- Monash Hub: Handbook facts for a unit code, curated official FAQs and official pages. Related student posts are shown separately and labelled as experience, not policy.
- 马莫百科’s own articles, with a link to the post.
When none of these match, a free language model may pick sentences from the same sources. The bot checks each one word for word against the source before sending, so it can only quote, never make things up.
When it does not know
Section titled “When it does not know”It tells you your question has been passed to the account owner. The owner’s answer reaches you the next time you message the account, because a personal WeChat account cannot send you a message first. The answer is also remembered, so the next person gets it straight away.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- It is better at short, specific questions. A unit code helps.
- For enrolment, visas and graduation, always confirm on the official page it links.
- It is run by a student, not by Monash University.
